Are Computer Devices Becoming too Slim?

iPhone 6 Exhibiting Inadequate Durability
With some users reporting that iPhone 6 can potentially bend under minimal pressure, you have to wonder how quality controls were conducted. Although consumer-electronics typically undergo durability tests before going to market, somewhere along the line, testing either was insufficient or never conducted on some phones. Was this the result of trying to race to market?

In the old days, product testing on similar devices like PDAs always included a drop test. Understandably though, many people would not be happy about their particular phone being dropped so only select phones probably endure this test. Nevertheless, the sample phones put through this scrutiny were inadequate for the durability test.

Personally, I prefer Android-based Samsung products because they are cheaper and still get the job done. Samsung devices are slim but comparatively, their Galaxy 3 tablet looks like a tank. It may not seem as sexy, but sometimes being slimmer is not always better.
